A Kingdom is defined as a government or country(domain) headed by a king or queen. In order to have a kingdom there are two things that must exist a King and a territory that he owns (a domain). A King can not be a King without owning territory. God is the one and only true King and His territory is Heaven which resides in the spiritual world. As a King, God wanted to extend his territory of His Kingdom so he created Earth. God's original purpose for creating Earth, was to extend his heavenly kingdom from the spirit realm to the physical realm. God's plan for Earth was to make a physical territory exist and resemble the spiritual territory (heaven). To accomplish this tasks He made sons (man) created in His own image making them kings over the earth to carry out the original King's will and purpose.
"Then God said, "Let us make man in our (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) image, in our likeness, and let them rule (have dominion) over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." (Genesis 1:26)
God made us kings giving us earth as our territory to rule. He placed us (his children) in authority to make earth resemble His Kingdom. This is why God is called the King of kings, Lord of lords. We are kings who obey and do the will of the original King and follow his plans for success. God established his guideline (His God-breath Word the Bible) for man to follow so His intent and will would be carried out into the physical realm. He gave His children laws, promises, and wisdom to make earth resemble the glory, power, and wonders of Heaven. Unfortunately, we did not follow His plans as intended, so God sent himself in human form (Jesus Christ). [Jesus the man, Christ which is God, making God within man]
God had to send himself in human form because of the statement he made in Genesis 1:26 ( let them rule (have dominion) over the earth). He placed the affairs of earth in the hands of man. Jesus whole purpose was to redeem us from our sins (rebellion against God), show us how to fulfill the plans of God with the authority he has given us, and to cleanses us from our own wickness so He can send Himself to live within each and every one of us (the Holy Spirit). Since we could not get this dominion thing right, God sent Himself to dwell in each one of us, so he can personally guide us to fulfill his purposes. And as a holy, perfect and righteous God he can not dwell in anything except holy land, so he had to take on our sins with His Son so we would be clean vessels for Him to live. This is why Jesus is so important to the equation. We are not righteous on our own, Jesus Christ's righteousness makes us righteous (being in right standing with God), so we do not have to live with the imperfections of our sinful nature. This is why believing in Jesus Christ dying for us is so significant, because if He does not lay down His life for us we have to answer to every sin (rebellion against God) that we caused in our life, and thats a heavy burden to handle. (God's standards are so high we do not have a chance on our own.) God is so faithful to his Word He established all these things to Help his children succeed within our failures in the plans he designed for us. He only wants our (loaned) kingdom to resemble His Kingdom.
This is why Jesus first public statement when he started preaching was
"Repent(means change your mindset and your way of thinking), for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." (Matthew 4:17)
Jesus came back to bring the original purpose of the King back on Earth. God has given us to much wisdom to fulfill his plans, we have to use these principles of success to our advantage so God's will can be accomplished here on earth just like in Heaven. Just imagine walking on streets of gold because everyone is so wealthy gold has become material for streets. Just imagine all your needs being taken care of and your are so blessed your job is to just praise and worship God for taking care of you. Well you do not have to imagine anymore, this is what Heaven is and God wants that for earth. God wants all man to enter the kingdom and it starts here on earth.
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19)
